Volunteer firefighter indicted for sexual offense of a minor
UPPER MARLBORO, MD (August 20, 2021) – Today, Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced the indictment of 53-year-old William Rodriguez-Lott, a former volunteer firefighter. He has been charged with two counts each of third degree and fourth degree sex offense.
On July 14, 2021, Rodriquez-Lott, 53, engaged in sexual activity multiple times with a 14-year-old minor victim.
“This case involves a young person in our community who was taken advantage of by someone we believe they did not know,” said State’s Attorney Braveboy. “Unfortunately, there are people who prey on children. We will hold them accountable. However, our children need to be reminded about safety on a daily basis. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want them to protect themselves from these types of dangers.”
An indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
