Kyeem King kills two men after the filming of a rap video
UPPER MARLBORO, MD (September 7, 2022) – Today, 32-year-old Kyeem King was sentenced to 125 years, suspending all but 95 years, in prison for the double murders of Davion Brandon (age 26) and Antonio Taitano-Walker (age 28) after filming a rap video in District Heights in June 2019.
“The brutal murders of these victims are unthinkable and heartbreaking. I commend the attorneys who prosecuted this case for delivering justice for the families of Mr. Taitano-Walker and Mr. Brandon. I hope this sentence sends a clear message that those considering violence as a solution to their problems will face stiff consequences,” said Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy.
In May 2022, King, of Oxon Hill, was found guilty of two counts of second degree murder, two counts of use of a handgun in a crime of violence, and other related handgun offenses.
On June 1, 2019, at approximately 1:32 a.m., Prince George’s County police officers were on routine patrol in an apartment complex parking lot in District Heights, Maryland. Officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the front driver and passenger seats of a gray Honda Accord. While first aid was rendered, Davion Brandon (age 26) died at the scene and Antonio Taitano-Walker (age 28) was transported to the Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly. Taitono-Walker underwent surgery and remained in the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries on June 9, 2019.
Crime scene investigators collected evidence at the scene of the crime that included a handgun, which was confirmed to be the firearm used in both murders.Additionally, a cell phone was found in the back seat of the vehicle which belonged to the defendant.Further investigation revealed that the defendant and both victims were together earlier the previous evening at a rap video shoot and places King in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
