Grand Jury Indicts Prince George's County Police Officer for Misconduct in Office

UPPER MARLBORO, MD (March 3, 2022) – Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy announced that a grand jury returned an indictment against a county police officer today. Sergeant Shaun Urbina has been charged and indicted on misconduct in office.


On July 9, 2020, Prince George’s Police Sergeant Shaun Urbina engaged in an unauthorized high-speed pursuit in Clinton, Maryland, a chase that resulted in the deaths of two involved civilians Lynda and Richard Jones.


An indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
