Former Fairmount Heights Police Officer Indicted for 1st Degree Rape and Attempting to Transmit HIV

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County State’s Attorney announced today that a grand jury returned an 11-count indictment against Martique Vanderpool for first and second degree rape, attempting to transfer the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), misconduct in office and other related offenses.


Vanderpool, 30, is being held without bond pending his upcoming trial. The former Fairmont Heights police officer is accused of raping a woman after taking her into custody on September 6, 2019.


Braveboy was joined by Prince George’s Police Chief Hank Stawinski at today’s press conference to discuss the charges.
