UPPER MARLBORO, MD (January 3, 2023)–Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy will be formally sworn in as the county’s top law enforcement officer for a second term at an investiture ceremony. The event will take place Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. in The Sheila R. Tillerson Adams Ceremonial Courtroom (M3400) at the Courthouse in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Braveboy officially began her first term on January 7, 2019, and was re-elected on November 8, 2022, in the general election.
Braveboy is expected to highlight some of her accomplishments during her address. Her administration achieved an over 90 percent homicide conviction rate, reduced intimate partner homicides by 40 percent, addressed juvenile justice reform and expanded diversion efforts and second chance opportunities for residents. The administration also initiated countywide crime prevention initiatives, engaged in extensive work around conviction and sentencing integrity cases and aggressively prosecuted domestic violence and repeat offenders. Her address will also outline her vision for the office going into the next term.
